Can’t Decide on a Cloud Hosting Service? Use Them All!

Many of the big names in cloud storage have a couple of things common – you can sign up for a free account and you can optionally pay an extra recurring fee for more storage and features. But in order to stay competitive, the companies behind these services add extra features and other interesting reasons to consider their platform over another. Some might offer a better free package with more space while others may play nicer with multiple operating systems both desktop and mobile. This can make choosing a service difficult and if you ever have that fork in the road, understand that there is nothing stopping you from using all the services.

Think about it for just a moment. Imagine yourself with a Google Drive  account, iCloud and Dropbox account. That would net you 22 GB of storage space right off the bat. Working with multiple cloud hosting providers isn’t all that difficult either if you follow these tips.

Adapt to your Ecosystem

If you are working with a single operating system, you can theoretically sign up in as many cloud hosting providers as you can wish and conveniently access your files from your favorite Web browser. But if you want your mobile device and other computer systems to be connected to your cloud accounts, you should stick to the more open platforms. For instance, don’t focus on iCloud if you have an iPhone, Android tablet and Linux desktop. Dropbox and/or Google Drive would be better choices.

Get Organized

Just because you use a certain combination of devices doesn’t mean that some cloud hosting services are more useless than others. By organizing your files, you can figure out how you want to utilize all those free gigabytes before you decide to go premium. For instance, your iCloud account can be used to store important iPhone backups while all of your important documents can go to Dropbox. Since documents are usually small in file size, you can create another backup of these files to your Google Drive account. Then you can offload your pictures to another cloud service. Don’t worry about multiple account management either because there are services like CloudFuze that can assist.
