Developer Conferences to Look Forward to This 2015

There are plenty of ways to improve your coding skills and attending developer conferences is high on that list. Being physically present in an event is the most beneficial since you get the rare privilege of meeting other fellow developers. Developing apps and websites from the comfort of your own home can be a pretty isolating and meeting other passionate coders could be the thing you just need to improve your weakest areas. But even if you cannot attend these events, the next best thing is to take note of the dates and look for live blogs or live streams if available and digest as much as you can. Here are a just a few of these events.

ConFoo – Feb. 16-20

ConFoo is a local technology conference held in just a few days and registrations are still open. With over 150 presentations covering a variety of topics with a main focus on Web development, ConFoo shows a lot of promise. There is a huge itinerary of all the topics that will be discussed so it is worth looking there before jumping in.

Google I/O – May 28-29

Last year’s Google I/O was pretty huge as it focused on wearables, the living room and a brand new design language for Android that will likely expand to other Google properties. Android Lollipop adoption is still low at the moment so you can expect this event to cover a lot of Material Design and possibly a few surprises.

WWDC – June 8-12 (?)

Apple’s most anticipated event for iOS and OS X developers hasn’t been officially announced yet but an old leak suggests that it could happen early June just like the last few events. But WWDC isn’t just about bringing developers up-to-speed but it is also the event where you can expect new blockbuster announcements. Last year, iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite was announced. Apple Watch should already be available if things go on schedule. Could we get a new product announcement or a sneak peak on iOS 9?
