Team work
A recent poll has come out which shows that, one out of every five jobs in the United States is held by a contract worker. This may even be higher in other parts of the world. The prediction is that if the trend continues, freelancers could make up half the entire workforce by 2027. Let us consider this in the web development space and compare individual freelances again teams or agencies using collective approaches. There are some very strong points to consider when hiring or looking to work with someone on a project.
Individual Freelancers
Individual freelancers can be very beneficial for some companies when it comes to web design and development services. Many of those contracts or projects are short in nature. The work involved does not require a full-time person. So having someone available to fulfil tasks on ongoing basis as needed, can save a lot of money. Efficiency is what every company or business will strive for. They work from their own environment, essentially you do not need to provide much in comparison against having someone in your office. No benefits or strings attached, the work can end at any time.
Team Approach Advantages
The team or agency approach will have many advantages over individual freelancers. A team of multiple developers and designers, will have a wide array of different skills. They could be much more proficient than an individual freelancer in certain areas. The skills-sets combined on projects can get things done much quicker and with much greater efficiency. When working with a team, you must also consider availability. Individuals can become unavailable at times, not being able to finish work. Whether they become sick or something happens in their life. There are also cases where they just may not be able to solve some tasks. The team will be able to utilise multiple people and always find solutions to problems. The agency will bring years of experience and the client does not have to rely on an individual person.
