Linkedin API

LinkedIn has a number of APIs, there's the Profile-API for getting users profiles and there's the Profile-Edit-API which can be used to send a patch of the user's profile to update the content.

API in normal terms means “application programming interface”. This is a concept in software technology that essentially refers to how multiple applications can interact with and obtain data from one another. APIs operate on an agreement of inputs and outputs. APIs are important because your Internet experience runs on APIs. Instead of accessing four different applications or services four separate times, you may use one software to access all four at the same time. APIs like Linkedin can be very beneficial for many companies to use. Not only for integration which allows user to login to sites via their Linkedin profile, but also different customizations that can be done. Which can streamline your processes and make things easier on the site. A business’ potential can be expanded greatly when an API is offered. It must be understood that there are only so many resources a business can offer. Having an API available, with developers who are eager to build on them, can expand their offerings to more people.

LinkedIn has a number of APIs, there’s the Profile-API for getting users profiles and there’s the Profile-Edit-API which can be used to send a patch of the user’s profile to update the content.

Linkedin Integration allows for “linkedin authentication”. Which let users login to a website using their LinkedIn account. Second part of this is this “linkedin  profile”, that let users display parts of their LinkedIn profile within their user page. Finally “linked status” allows users to update their LinkedIn status when creating/updating comments. This is a great article on how many different websites and companies actually use the Linkedin API. If you are thinking about integrating this custom solution within your website, don’t hesitate to reach out to an experienced professional. Devradius has done many similar integrations in the past.
