From first hand experience with WordPress. It’s a great and simple CMS for clients to learn. However it does depend a lot on what you are trying to accomplish. Highly recommended for more simple websites, brochure style websites and blogs. However websites that are more complex, there are more superior technologies available which mill make the process easier and more efficient. Remember that WordPress was developed with the idea of the user in mind, the flexibility and ease of use. Sometimes we think anything can be customized and changed with relative ease, however this is not true in all cases. Sometimes a developer will spend a great deal of time to customize the way you need it. Whereas another framework will be much more easier to work from.

If you are starting a website project, think in what you are trying to build? If you don’t know what WordPress actually is capable of and what other technologies are available.
